Hake Fillets
2 x 160-180g hake portions
Landed in Cornwall - hand prepared and ready to cook.
Hake fillets have a soft, tender texture and a boast a mild, subtly sweet flavour. A member of the cod family, hake is traditionally favoured in Spanish cuisines as it lends itself well to warm Mediterranean flavours.
"Hake has a beguiling, soft texture and good flavour and, I think, takes to butter or cream better than any other fish. It is also rather good served cold with mayonnaise or sauce verte, which is olive-oil mayonnaise with blanched spinach, rocket and herbs blitzed into it" – Rick
Hake fillets can be pan-fried, baked, steamed or grilled until the flesh is firm to touch and opaque.
Please note, occasionally products may be unavailable or replaced from a different source due to bad weather conditions, seasonality and current circumstances.
