A member of the Cod family, Hake are native to Northern Europe. Since the late 1990s they have benefitted from the introduction of the "hake recovery plan" which have seen fishing stocks return to sustainable and safe levels.
Hake has a soft, tender, creamy texture and is delicious roasted or pan-fried.
