This beautiful ceramic design, inspired by the land and seascape of Cornish coves, was the winning entry in a competition Rick Stein launched to final year design students at Falmouth University, Cornwall to create his new tabletop collection.

Coves from north Cornwall have been hand-painted in watercolour showing the depth and colour variations in the sea. The clean design and form of bone china complements the subtly changing shades of each cove resulting in a unique and highly collectable range of coastal tableware.

This is a set of 4 dinner plates and comes gift boxed. The 4 dinner plates included in this set are Daymer Bay, St. George's Cove, Trevone Bay and Constantine Bay.

Here are Rick's memories of these coves:

Daymer Bay - "I can't walk along the sands here without thinking of John Betjeman and sand in the sandwiches, wasps in the tea'."

St. George's Cove - "The nearest little beach to the town of Padstow with a mystical well in the valley behind."

Trevone Bay - "Scene of a little barbecue of Cornish sardines watched avidly by Chalky, my late and much lamented Jack Russell."

Constantine Bay - "Barbecues and folk songs in the dunes in the '60s. Everyone surfing at high tide. Stern warnings from my parents of dangerous rips when it was low."

The plates have a diameter of 28cm. Dishwasher, microwave and oven safe to 200 degrees.
