Rick Stein Rosé, Chateau Bauduc, Creons, Bordeaux, France

It's going to be a perfect pink Summer with our outrageously good Rick Stein Rosé from our great friend Gavin Quinney at Chateau Bauduc in Bordeaux. This is perfect on its own in the sun by the beach but also great with Langoustines, prawns and the classic match Salade Nicoise.

Secateurs Rosé, A.A. Badenhorst Wines, Swartland, South Africa

This is what I'm going to be drinking this Summer. My old friend Adi has only gone and made the most delicious rose. Great with a crab salad, BBQ sea bass and our Hake box.

WHITE

Muscadet sur Lie "La Grande Reserve" Domaine Gadais

I'm a huge fan of Muscadet, it's one of the quintessential shellfish wines, it's light on its feet and has a real buzz of fresh acidity, a sort of electric shock of a wine. It's the perfect wine on a hot evening, one that you really don't need to think too deeply about. It's also my favourite match with oysters.

Rick Stein Sauvignon Blanc, Chateau Bauduc, Creons, Bordeaux, France

An aromatic, zesty Sauvignon Blanc so good that we stuck our name on it. Made by our friend Gavin Quinney at his Chateau in the Entre-Deux-Mers, where I think they make some of the finest Sauvignon. This works with a whole host of seafood and light dishes. I'm thinking a seabass ceviche, shellfish, Greek salad, fattoush salad, grilled calamari, guacamole, gazpacho, goat's cheese salad, saganaki... the list is endless.

Albariño, Nai E Señora, Rias Baixas Spain

This wine is all about white peaches, lime and a touch of coastal saltiness. It's this which makes it the PERFECT shellfish wine. White crab meat? best friends, dark crab meat? best friends. It also has a love affair with any crustaceans, I'm thinking big fat langoustines, plump lobster claws and even dainty prawns stuck out of a prawn cocktail glass.  

RED

Secateurs Red, Cinsault, Grenache, Syrah, Badenhorst, Swartland, South Africa

Adi Badenhorst makes some of the best wines in South Africa, he does whites, reds, roses, mezcal and even vermouth. This is a delicious round, juicy red blend. This is the house red in my household.
