Lemon sole is a flatfish that can be found in colder seas, where it roams the stony bottoms. It is thought to get its name from the fact that its shape vaguely resembles that of a lemon, along with its light,yellow-tinged colour.

Lemon Sole Fillets 360g

Serves Two

Lemon Sole boasts a light, delicately sweet flavour and offers a subtle alternative to Dover Sole. Our locally sourced lemon sole fillets come trimmed and ready to cook and they can be grilled, fried or steamed. It’s important not to overcook it, so it’s best to cook on medium to high heat.

As a delicate fish, we recommend serving it with lighter flavours and careful seasoning. A butter sauce, simply cooked vegetables and a squeeze of lemon are all you need to create a delicious, nutritious meal with this fish.

"British Lemon Sole has a longer-lasting flavour than the local Flounders, Plaice and dabs and is thus a better bet for grilling whole” - Rick

We will donate £1 for every online fishmonger order over £50 to Dive Project Cornwall. We want to support their quest to protect the marine environment to save our oceans for future generations.

Please note, occasionally products may be unavailable or replaced from a different source due to bad weather conditions, seasonality and current circumstances.

We’re proud to sell the best quality catch and like all live fish markets, pricing can fluctuate day to day depending on what the local fishermen are landing.
