Rick Stein Sauvignon Blanc, Chateau Bauduc, Creons, Bordeaux, France - An aromatic, zesty Sauvignon Blanc so good that we stuck our name on it. Made by our friend Gavin Quinney at his Chateau in the Entre-Deux-Mers, where I think they make some of the finest Sauvignon. This works with a whole host of seafood and light dishes. I'm thinking a seabass ceviche, shellfish, Greek salad, fattoush salad, grilled calamari, guacamole, gazpacho, goat's cheese salad, saganaki.. the list is endless.
Rick Stein's Spanish White, Verdejo, D.O Rueda, Spain - "After a number of seafood delights while filming in Galicia & drinking cold Rueda from white china cups, I had to find a really well made one for us. It's charmingly fresh & fragrant. Made with Viura & Verdejo grapes, it's a wine to celebrate my Spanish book & TV series" - Rick
Rick Stein's White Burgundy, Macon, Burgundy, France - We blend this wine ourselves and this year we were looking for elegance, roundness and a bit of flesh to match a variety of our classic dishes. We absolutely love it and hope you will too.
Rick Stein Bordeaux Superieur - Stein's Bordeaux, the newest addition to our Rick Stein wine collection, is our own blend of Merlot and Cabernet. It's been a real family effort with Charlie working closely with the winemaker to bring his idea to life, whilst Kate Stein designed the fabulous label from her home studio in Cornwall. A soft and juicy claret that is exactly the right wine to go with a steak frites or a plate of cheese.
Phebus Malbec, Mendoza, Argentina - I tasted this blind with four Somms and it totally blew the competition away. Intense and exuberant fruit of blueberries and mulberry with a touch of chocolate and liquorice. A juicy rib-eye, sirloin or rump is the perfect partner for Malbec. They are basically a double act.
Soli Pinot Noir, Thracian Valley, Bulgaria 2020 - "I’ve tried this blind against many different pinot noirs from around the world and I was convinced it was a Santenay from Burgundy – and I wasn’t the only one in the group. The wine is light, fresh, fragrant with redcurrant and wild strawberry fruit and it’s dangerously easy to drink" - Charlie
