Rick Stein embarks on an epic culinary journey to explore the diverse food cultures of South-East Asia from Sri Lanka and Bangladesh to Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia and the islands of Indonesia. Along the way, he discovers the secrets of national dishes such as Cambodia's Fish Amok; Tom Yum Goong, the culinary icon of Thailand and the true Biryani of Bangladesh, while back home in his own kitchen, Rick demonstrates his own versions of some of the dishes including fish steamed in banana leaves with mustard massala; duck in spiced orange juice and coconut dhal with tomato and curry leaves.
